• Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains

Project Details

Project Description

Power Logistics was delighted to support LarMac LIVE with the delivery of the Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains install at London’s prestigious V & A Museum. The exhibition which ran from 13th May – 15th October 2017 featured 10 zones and immersed the visitor into the world of Pink Floyd. The basic layout was simple and laid out chronologically and thematically. Each room focused on one album and everything around it; the tour, pop culture at that moment, and the personal stories from members of the band.

Two members of the Power Logistics team were onsite from 21st March until 7th May ensuring that the project was delivered effectively.  The install included cabling and distribution equipment that worked with the venue’s in-house power supply.

Using 10 small house power supplies, including 63 Amp 3 phase and 63Amp single phase, the distribution was split throughout the complex structure of the building. Mains cables were run underneath a cassette deck floor whilst other cabling was hidden in stud or cassette walls. In addition, cabling ran along the truss at height where it powered LED screens, Sennheiser Antennas (for the audio tour), speakers, light boxes, inflatables, small projectors etc.

Overall, aside from the show power supplies to lighting, audio, lasers, video/projection the job involved large quantities of 16 Amp cable, as much of the power consumption throughout the exhibition was very low. To ensure it was easy to pin point any faults that occurred the Power Logistics team utilised significant amounts of distribution equipment, this ensured that supplies were kept separate wherever possible.
