Massive Attack

Power Logistics managed, specified and deployed a pioneering battery solution for the Act 1.5: Massive Attack event held over the August Bank Holiday.

Massive Attack held the UK’s biggest low-carbon gig ever with a one-day festival on Clifton Downs, putting their calls for the music industry to respond to climate change into action. The event hopes to create a blueprint for the future of sustainable live music.

The gig was years in the planning with discussions beginning during the pandemic) so to see it finally come to fruition was incredibly exciting.

The entire production was powered by batteries charged by renewable energy. Behind the scenes, a convoy of electric trucks moved the batteries for the utilities up and down the motorway for recharging with renewable energy ensuring no diesel or even HVO was required onsite.

Our team managed, specified and deployed the pioneering battery solution for the one day event, including bars, infrastructure and site utilities. The solution was also utilised for Fast Forward’s load in with that event taking place the following weekend.

With site wide monitoring of all feeds also part of our solution our ‘wizards’ are busy analysing all the data and we’ll be able to share more details over the next few weeks. Undoubtedly an exciting and ground breaking event and hopefully a ‘massive’ step forward for sustainable power solutions in our industry.
