Project Description

Power Logistics provided all show and site power for U2 and DJ, David Guetta, performance’s in London’s Trafalgar Square as part of this year’s MTV EMA celebrations. Working on behalf of production manager, Chris Vaughan and BHE Worldwide, Power Logistics supplied generators, predominately from its own fleet, ranging in size from 8 – 500 kva, for the stage and broadcast power, concessions and additional kit around the event site. They also provided LED towerlights and flood lighting; cabling and distribution equipment and an impressive 220 pieces of its ADA disable access ramp, to allow access across Trafalgar Square. The Power Logistics team, comprising a project manager and five crew, was onsite for a week in total.

Mike Whitehouse, Power Logistics’ managing director said: “This was a great project to be involved in, we were really pleased to work with Chris Vaughan and U2, who we have a history of working with, and providing power to. Working in Trafalgar Square always presents a few challenges logistically, given its location and the huge volumes of people who pass through it each day, but I’m pleased to say that everything went smoothly, and the event was a huge success.”
